UMI-Sci-Ed project to be presented on June 7, 2018 at the Sustainable Development Festival
The Horizon project UMI-Sci-Ed (of which Cubit is partner) will be presented on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Department of Political Science of the University of Pisa with the workshop: Learning by “doing together”. Building and sharing change in the teaching of Stem subjects as “active learning places”.
The event is part of the program of the second edition of the National Festival of Sustainable Development: a cultural and political awareness raising initiative across the country, attended by over 180 organizations and networks representing the civil society in the framework of the European Sustainable Development Week. The Festival aims at involving citizens in the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability, promoting the sharing of best practices on the themes of the Agenda 2030.
The objective of the UMI-Sci-Ed workshop is the presentation of the main lines of the Project, which proposes new perspectives in the teaching of STEM subjects through the application of UMI technologies (Ubiquitous Computing, Mobile Computing and Internet of Things), in order to improve the students’ skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and thus make a career in the field of UMI technologies more attractive.
Together with Cubit, the partnership comprises the following organizations: Instituto Technologias Ypologistonkai Ekdoseon Diofantos – Coordinator (Greece), Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), Helsingin Yliopisto (Finland), University of Pisa (Italy), Telecentre-Europe AISBL (Belgium).
